Hello dear friends, this time our trip destination has fallen into another dimension. A dimension which tries to discover the World from above  - to see the nature wonders from the "roof" of the World. 
Thats why the Grossglockner High Alpine Road was choosen as our next destination - the road itself and the spectacular views can fulfill everyones expectations.

Since its opening in 1935 The Grossglockner High Alpine Road has been considered by far one of the most favourite destination for sportcar drivers, motorcyclists and bicyclists.
There is no doubt that the high qualitative and valuable reviews on the Internet agrees that the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is considered one of the most fascinating panoramic roads in Europe.

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road lets you drive high up into the mountains to an altitude of over 2571 meters above see level. The unique part is that the road will lead beyond the Pasterze Glacier, and will let you easily reach the Kaizer Franz Josefs Höhe bringing a great reward - a stunning view of Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner.

Lot of highlights can be found along the road(no fees need to be payed except the entrance ticket - at the bottom of the mountain - can be payed directly at the toll both), the Fusch Gate, from where the first glimpse of the Grossglockner can be observed, the "Pass Santctuary" exhibition  at the High Gate and of course the exhibition on alpine ecology including the marmot show at the Alpine Nature Museum

It really doesn't matter from which side you are trying to reach these beauties, the most important thing is to enjoy and taste that small piece of freedom that sadly cannot be caught on camera.

Additional information: since the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a private road, there should be payed a 34 euro for a day ticket if you are driving a car and 24 euro day ticket if you are driving a motorcycle. If you are thinking to return in the same year on the Grossglockner, then you may consider to keep the original entrance ticket - the next visit will cost you just 10 euro.
